First Fruit Sunday

God has always made us first in His heart. Because He prioritized us even before we were born, we are called to honor Him by putting Him first in every area of our lives.

FIRST FRUIT SUNDAY

Matthew 6:24

GOD IS FIRST

From the very beginning, God established order — He is first.

Jeremiah 1:5 reminds us: "Before I formed you in the womb I knew you, before you were born I set you apart…"

Before we ever thought about God, He was already thinking about us. We were in His heart and mind. If we were not, Christ would not have gone to the cross for us. Because God made us a priority, He deserves to be our priority.

If God made us first in His heart, then He deserves to be first in our lives.

YOU CANNOT SERVE TWO MASTERS

In Matthew 6:24, Jesus makes it clear — we cannot divide our loyalty. We cannot serve both God and money.

We may say that God is first, but our actions reveal our true priorities. If He is not first in our finances, then He is not truly first. Lordship is demonstrated, not declared.

The principle of first fruits is about putting God first in every area — especially in our giving.

THE PRINCIPLE OF FIRST FRUITS

Proverbs 3:9–10 says: "Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops; then your barns will be filled to overflowing…"

When we give our first fruits:

- We honor God.

- We acknowledge that everything comes from Him.

- We demonstrate obedience and trust.

This principle is not about the result — it is about obedience. The blessing is a byproduct; obedience is the priority.

When you give your first fruit to God, He stands on it. He stands guard over what you entrust to Him.

FROM PROMISE TO PROVISION

God does not just give promises — He brings provision.

In Genesis 12:2, God promised Abraham that he would be blessed and become a blessing. The first fruit is the beginning of many more blessings to come. It is the first of what God will multiply.

Jeremiah 2:3 describes Israel as holy to the Lord, the firstfruits of His harvest — set apart and protected. When we give our first to God, we position ourselves under His covering and care.

God is bound to His Word. When we honor Him according to His principles, He responds according to His promises.

SUPERNATURAL BLESSING

First fruit giving opens the door for supernatural blessing — not merely financial increase, but divine provision, protection, and favor.

God desires to take us from promise to provision.

And often, a testimony of what God has done in someone's life speaks louder than a thousand sermons. What God has done for us is living proof of His faithfulness.

CLOSING CHARGE

Honor God with your wealth.

Put Him first — not just in words, but in action. When God is first, everything else finds its proper place.
